yeah thats a common problem. But it can be fixed easily. I go about painting cars just a little bit different than he does. I unpack the team.mas file and "export" all VRL files to a folder and save all BMP files to the same folder. When it comes time to load the vrls and bmps into a team.mas, open MAStudio go to the tools drop down menu and select "Create .MAS from directory". Then link your input to the folder with all of your files in it and link the output to the car's team.mas file in the vehicles folder. Then select make MAS

To fix your problem you need to put your BMPs that you painted into a folder. Then unpack your team.mas and send the rest of the files to this folder. Finally use the "create .MAS from directory" feature of MAStudio

You've done just fine, en4cer.
Here are a few things you can do to add power:

Easiest: Change your "final drive ratio" located under "[DRIVELINE]". This is just like changing the rear-end gears in your car. The higher the number you put in for this, the taller the gears. changing this number to 5 will give you a good balance of acceleration, but still a decent top speed.

You can also change your transmissions gear ratios under "[GEARS]" or even add additional gears for the forward gears.

Changing the engines settings is the most difficult, but yields much higher power gains than just changing the ratios. You can choose to increase the maximum engine RPM to as high as you want as long as the RPM are written there below. Stock class files stop at 10,000 RPM, but you can copy and paste more in.

RPM_TORQUE=(4000,-36.56,490)
For this sample of code, 4000 is the RPM, and the negative number is the amount of power. You can change these numbers to whatever you want but if the power curve you set up is more linear or there is not a gradual increase between RPM, your engine will sound shakey and buggy in the game.

It should automatically save the settings. If you made your own car class, all you should have to do is change the VEH. Class under your car VEh File. Using the 64 Mercury as an example..... You would need to open the B33GPXA folder, erase the car class that is there (101) and enter the car class that you have created. If I remember correctly, it will ask you if want to overwrite or save the new data. Of course you will want to. I have not done this for a couple of years, but it is defintitely the way I wrote it up. If you have Vista, good luck. I have not figured out how to do any alterations to the cars. If you do get it figured out, 527bb will be able to walk you through it a lot better then I could. But try this first, it should work.
